Contact support
Email support@soloupapp.com. Typical reply time: within 7 working days.
Tip: the quickest way to get help is to email us from the address you use to sign in, and tell us (1) what you were trying to do, (2) what happened instead, (3) your phone model and Android or iOS version, and (4) a screenshot if you can. Never send us your password, a one-time code or your card number. We will never ask for them.
Getting started
What is SoloUp?
SoloUp turns a goal into a clear plan. You tell us what you want to achieve and for how long, answer a few questions, and the app builds a plan of milestones and small daily tasks so you always know what to do today.
How does it work?
- Sign in with Google, Apple or your email.
- Write your goal and choose how many months you want to give it (1 to 12).
- Answer a few questions so the plan fits you.
- Choose a plan to unlock your personalised roadmap.
- Follow your plan. Open the app each day, tick off what you did and collect trophies.
Is SoloUp free?
No. SoloUp is a subscription app and there is no free goal. You need a subscription to build your plan and use the app. See Subscriptions and billing.
Which devices does it run on?
SoloUp is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play. If the app does not appear for your device, make sure your operating system is up to date.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. Your plan is stored in your account and built by our servers, so you need a connection to create a goal, build a plan or tick off tasks.
Which languages are supported?
SoloUp is currently in English.
Signing in and your account
How do I sign in?
You can use Google, Apple, or email. With email we send a 6-digit code to your inbox. Enter it in the app to sign in. There is no password to remember.
I did not get my email code. What should I do?
- Wait a minute and check your spam or junk folder.
- Check that you typed your address correctly.
- Make sure your inbox is not full and that mail from soloupapp.com is not blocked.
- Wait for the Resend code button to appear (about a minute after the first email), tap it, and use the newest code. Only the latest code works. Codes expire after 10 minutes.
- If it still does not arrive, write to support@soloupapp.com.
My code says it is wrong or expired.
Request a fresh code and use that one. Each new code replaces the earlier one, so an older email will no longer work.
Can I change the email on my account?
Your email is tied to the way you signed in (Google, Apple or email). If you need to change it, write to support@soloupapp.com.
I signed in with Apple and hid my email. Is that a problem?
No. Apple gives us a private address, and everything works as usual. Remember which Apple ID you used, because it is how we recognise your account.
I have two accounts with different sign-in methods. Can I merge them?
Not at the moment. Each account is separate. Pick the one you want to keep. If you need to remove the other, you can delete it from inside the app.
Do I have to add a phone number?
Yes. A phone number is required. It is used so friends who already have your number saved can find you on SoloUp.
How do I verify my phone number?
Enter your number in the app. We send a 6-digit code over WhatsApp. Enter it to confirm. You need WhatsApp installed and an internet connection to receive it.
It says my phone number is already in use.
A phone number can belong to only one SoloUp account. If you used it on another account, you will be asked to use a different number. If you believe the number was added to an account by mistake, write to support@soloupapp.com.
I reinstalled the app or got a new phone. How do I get my goal back?
Sign in with the same method and account you used before. If you have already subscribed, the app takes you straight to your goal instead of onboarding. If you do not see your plan, tap Restore Purchase on the plan screen. Your goals are saved in your account, not on the phone.
Can I use SoloUp on more than one device?
Yes. Sign in with the same account. Your goal and progress sync through your account. Note that the optional goal video message is saved on the device where you recorded it and does not move to other devices.
How do I sign out or switch accounts?
There is no separate sign-out button yet. To use a different account, email support@soloupapp.com and we will help, or use Profile > Delete All Data, which removes your data and returns you to the start. Deleting does not cancel a subscription.
Goals and your AI plan
What kind of goal can I write?
Any realistic personal goal, such as learning a skill, building a habit, changing careers, getting fit, saving money or finishing a project. Write it in a short sentence (up to 100 characters). The clearer it is, the better your plan will be.
How long can my goal be?
You choose between 1 and 12 months.
Why was my goal declined?
Goals can be declined automatically if they:
- are not a real goal (random letters, a test, or a joke);
- ask for something unsafe, unlawful or harmful; or
- break our Terms.
Try rewording it as a clear, positive goal, for example "Run my first 5 km in 3 months" instead of a single word.
It says I have made too many attempts.
To protect the service from abuse we limit how many goals you can try in a short time. If several goals are declined in a row you are paused for about an hour. If you make a very large number of attempts in one day you are paused for up to 24 hours. After the pause you can try again. If you believe you were paused by mistake, write to support@soloupapp.com.
How are my questions and plan created?
We use artificial intelligence. It first writes a few questions about your situation, then uses your answers to create milestones and tasks. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what is sent to our AI providers.
How long does it take?
Writing your questions normally takes a few seconds. Building the full plan after you answer takes longer, often up to a minute or two. You can leave the screen. If you close the app, we pick up where you left off the next time you open it.
Why does the app ask me questions before building my plan?
Your answers help us match the plan to your time, experience and situation. Please answer honestly. Free-text answers must make sense. Answers that look like random characters will be sent back for you to fix.
Can I change my goal or my answers after the plan is built?
A plan cannot be edited once it is built. If you want to change direction, you can end the goal and start a new one (if you still have goals left in your allowance). Your finished and unfinished goals are listed in Profile > Completed Goals and Unfinished Goals.
How many goals can I create?
You need a subscription to create goals. Subscribers can create up to three new goals in each billing month. The allowance restarts on the same day each month, counted from the day you subscribed. For example, if you subscribed on the 29th, your allowance renews around the 29th each month.
You will see how many goals you have left on the goal screen.
I ran out of goals this month. What now?
Wait for your allowance to restart on your monthly renewal date, or finish your current work and start a new goal then. Your existing goals and progress stay available.
Is the plan always right?
No. The plan is created by AI and is general guidance, not professional advice. Please use your own judgement. Do not follow any task that feels unsafe or unwise for you, and speak to a qualified professional (a doctor, financial adviser or lawyer, for example) for important decisions. See section 5 of our Terms.
Is my goal private?
Yes, by default. Your goal is visible to nobody until you choose to share it. See Friends and the community.
Can I record a message to myself for my goal?
Yes. On your goal screen you can record a short video message to your future self. It is stored only on your phone. We never upload it or see it. If you delete the app, the video is deleted with it.
What happens when I finish a goal?
You can mark it completed, which moves it to Completed Goals in your Profile. You can also end a goal you no longer want to pursue, which moves it to Unfinished Goals. After finishing a goal you can start a new one if you have goals left.
Tasks and trophies
What kinds of tasks are there?
- Plan tasks are one-time steps in your roadmap, grouped by month and week. You do them in order.
- Daily tasks are habits you repeat every day for a set number of days (for example, 21 days).
- Custom tasks are habits you repeat on the days you pick (for example, Tue, Fri and Sun).
Where do I see what to do today?
Open Today. It shows the plan task you should do next, your daily tasks and any custom tasks due today.
How do I mark a task done?
Tap the circle next to the task. For daily and custom tasks this is called a check-in and counts for that day. A day's check-in can only be made for today.
What if I miss a day?
No problem. Your total progress stays and you can keep going the next day.
What happens after I finish a habit's target days?
You can keep checking in. The task keeps counting, and your extra days show in a different colour on the calendar so you can see your bonus days.
Can I turn a plan task into a daily or custom habit?
Yes. Open the task and choose how often you want to repeat it. You can change the schedule or stop the habit at any time.
What are trophies?
Each month of your plan has a trophy. Completing the work in that month unlocks it. Trophies show on your goal screen and, if you share your goal, to your friends.
What does the progress bar on a month mean?
It shows how many of that month's tasks you have completed out of the total.
Why can I not tick tasks off any more?
Your subscription has probably ended. When that happens, your Tasks, Friends, Today's tasks and goal history are locked, along with some other screens and the home screen widgets, until you subscribe again. See Subscriptions and billing.
Why do I only see some of my tasks?
Plan tasks are shown month by month and week by week. Open a month to see its tasks. Your Today screen always shows what to do next.
Friends and the community
How do I find friends on SoloUp?
Verify your phone number and allow access to your contacts. The app then shows which of your contacts already use SoloUp. Only people who have your number saved and have verified their own number can see each other.
What do you do with my contacts?
Your contacts' names and numbers are used only to check who is on SoloUp. We do not store them. We keep only a link between your account and each matching SoloUp user, and we replace those links each time you refresh. See the Privacy Policy.
I do not want to share my contacts.
That is fine. Everything works without contacts access. You can turn the permission off in your phone's settings at any time.
Who can see my goal?
You choose in the app: everyone, nobody (the default), only people you list, or everyone except people you list. Change it any time. Your friends' notifications about your progress follow the same setting.
How do I invite a friend who is not on SoloUp?
In the Friends tab, pick a contact and send them an invitation through your phone's normal sharing options. We never message your contacts ourselves.
What is the community feed?
A place where people can share why they started their goal and encourage each other. You can post, like and comment. Posts can be seen by other users.
How do I report a post or person?
Open the post and choose Report. We review reports and may remove content or limit accounts that break our rules. You can also email support@soloupapp.com with details.
Someone is bothering me. What can I do?
Set your goal visibility to nobody or block that person in the visibility list, report their content, and email us if it continues. If you ever feel unsafe, contact your local authorities.
How do I delete a post or comment I made?
Open your post or comment and choose delete. This removes it from SoloUp. Copies other people already made, such as screenshots, are outside our control.
Notifications and widgets
What notifications will I get?
- Reminders about your tasks.
- Friend updates, such as when people you know complete tasks. These are grouped and sent a few times a day, never one by one, and only for people whose goal visibility allows you to see them.
- Other notifications from SoloUp about your goals, your progress and the app.
When does the app ask for notification permission?
Right after you sign in. You are asked once. If you tap "Don't allow", the app will not ask again, and you can turn notifications on later in your phone's settings.
How do I turn notifications off?
In your phone's settings: Settings > Apps > SoloUp > Notifications (Android) or Settings > Notifications > SoloUp (iPhone).
I am not getting notifications.
- Check that notifications are allowed for SoloUp in your phone settings.
- Turn off battery saver or "optimise battery" restrictions for SoloUp, because some phones silence apps in the background.
- Check that Do Not Disturb is off.
- Make sure you are signed in and have an internet connection.
- Sign out, sign back in and try again.
Are there home screen widgets?
Yes. SoloUp has home screen widgets for your goal, milestone, tasks and trophies. Press and hold on your home screen, choose Widgets, then pick SoloUp. Widgets show what is already on your phone, so open the app once if a widget looks out of date.
What is App Lock?
In Profile, App Lock makes SoloUp ask for your phone's own lock (fingerprint, face or PIN) every time you open it. Your biometric data never reaches us. It is handled entirely by your phone.
How do I change to dark mode?
Open Profile and use the Dark Mode switch.
Subscriptions and billing
What does a subscription include?
It unlocks building your full plan, tracking all your tasks, your home screen widgets, and creating up to three new goals each billing month. The purchase screen shows exactly what is included and the price in your own currency.
How much does it cost?
We offer monthly and yearly plans. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency, and can differ between countries. The yearly plan usually costs less per month.
How do I subscribe?
Choose a plan on the purchase screen and confirm with your Apple ID or Google account.
Who charges me?
Apple or Google, not SoloUp. We never see or store your card details.
Does my subscription renew automatically?
Yes. It renews at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it renews.
How do I cancel?
Cancel in the store where you bought it.
- iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > SoloUp > Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play Store > your profile picture > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions > SoloUp > Cancel subscription.
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
Deleting the app or deleting your data in SoloUp does not cancel your subscription. Always cancel in the store.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by SoloUp, because they take the payment.
- Apple: go to reportaproblem.apple.com and choose "Request a refund".
- Google Play: go to your Google Play order history, open the order, and choose "Request a refund" or contact Google Play support.
Contact us too if something went wrong with a purchase and we will do what we can to help.
I paid but the app still says I do not have a subscription.
- Check that you are signed in to the same SoloUp account and the same Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase.
- Open the plan screen and tap Restore Purchase.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Make sure you have an internet connection.
- If it still does not work, email support@soloupapp.com with your order number (it starts with GPA. on Google Play, or is in your Apple receipt email) and the email on your account.
My subscription ended. What happens to my data?
Nothing is deleted. Your data is kept, but your Tasks, Friends, Today's tasks and goal history are locked, along with some other screens and the home screen widgets. Subscribe again to unlock them.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes. Choose the other plan on the purchase screen or change it in your store's subscription settings. How and when the change takes effect depends on Apple or Google.
Can I share my subscription with family or friends?
A subscription belongs to one SoloUp account. It cannot be shared between accounts.
I changed phones. Do I lose my subscription?
No. Sign in to the same SoloUp account and tap Restore Purchase.
Is there a free trial?
No. SoloUp does not offer a free trial.
Do you accept other payment methods?
Subscriptions are sold only through the Apple App Store and Google Play, so you can pay with whatever those stores accept in your country.
Privacy, safety and your data
What information do you collect?
Your account details, your goal and plan activity, and anything you choose to post. The full list, with reasons, is in the Privacy Policy.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell your personal information and we show no ads.
Who sees my goal text?
Only you, plus the people you choose, and our AI providers who process it to build your plan. Avoid putting sensitive details (health, financial or identity information) in your goal or answers.
How do I delete my account and my data?
Open Profile and tap Delete All Data. This permanently removes your account and everything linked to it. It cannot be undone. It does not cancel a subscription, so cancel that in your store first or afterwards.
If you cannot open the app, email support@soloupapp.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes. Email support@soloupapp.com from your account email and ask for a copy. We will reply within 30 days.
How do I correct information about me?
You can edit your name and photo in Profile. For anything else, email us.
Is my information secure?
We use encrypted connections, private storage for profile photos, access controls and hashed sign-in codes. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone locked and never share your sign-in codes. Read more in the Privacy Policy.
I found a security problem. Who do I tell?
Please email support@soloupapp.com with the subject "Security". Give us a chance to fix it before sharing it publicly. We appreciate responsible reports.
Is SoloUp for children?
No. You must be at least 13 years old (higher in some countries). See our Terms.
SoloUp is not a replacement for professional help
SoloUp is a productivity and motivation tool. It does not give medical, mental-health, financial, legal or other professional advice. If you are struggling, please speak to a professional. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
Troubleshooting
The app crashes or will not open.
- Close the app completely and reopen it.
- Restart your phone.
- Update SoloUp and your phone's operating system.
- Make sure you have free storage on your phone.
- If it continues, uninstall and reinstall SoloUp. Your account data is safe on our servers. Sign in with the same account to get it back. (Your goal video message lives only on the phone and will be lost if you uninstall.)
- Email us with your phone model and OS version.
It says "Could not reach the server".
Check your internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) and try again. If other apps work and this still appears, we may be doing maintenance. Wait a few minutes and retry.
It says "Something went wrong".
Try the action again. If it keeps happening, email us with a screenshot and what you were doing.
My plan is taking a long time to build.
Building a plan with AI can take a minute or two. Please keep the app open or come back later. If it has been stuck for more than 10 minutes, close and reopen the app, and if that does not help, email us.
The screen is blank or stuck on a loading spinner.
Check your connection, close and reopen the app, and make sure you are using the latest version.
My Google or Apple sign-in fails.
- Check you are using the correct account.
- Make sure the app and your phone's Google Play services (Android) or iOS are up to date.
- Try signing in with email instead.
- Check that your phone's date and time are set automatically.
I cannot find my goal after signing in.
You are probably signed in to a different account than before. Sign out, then sign in with the same method (Google, Apple or the same email) you used originally.
Purchases are not working.
Make sure you are signed in to the App Store or Google Play on your phone and that you have a valid payment method there. Then try again. See also I paid but the app still says I do not have a subscription above.
The date or time looks wrong.
Make sure your phone's date, time and time zone are set to automatic. Daily tasks use your phone's date.
How do I update the app?
Open the App Store or Google Play, search for SoloUp and tap Update. Turning on automatic updates keeps you on the latest version.
